Behind the Seams

Like so many designers, fashion was a part of Rachael Eagens' identity from an early age. She grew up in Rocky River, Ohio, a suburb near Cleveland. "Early on in my childhood, I started to do what came naturally to me: styling outfits, creating my own look books, drawing flats and illustrations, having my own photo shoots, and probably even more that I have forgotten to mention.  Fashion has always been a part of who I am. Bill Blass put it best, 'Style is primarily a matter of instinct.'"
Rachael didn't realize that she wanted to pursue a career in design until her second year of college at the University of Dayton. "I started to do some real soul searching about who I was and who I wanted to become.  I was out shopping during my Spring Break when it hit me: fashion. Why was I not going to school for fashion?"
She moved to Chicago and enrolled in the International Academy of Design and Technology.  After her first semester, she transferred to the Kent State Shannon Rogers School of Fashion, in Kent, Ohio, where she majored in fashion design and merchandising. She completed her internship at the Green Room in New York City, and graduated from Kent State in the summer of 2009.
Since graduating from college, Rachael has been working on her own label, RKE Clothing. (RKE stands for Rachael Kathleen Eagens, her full name.) She has completed her first collection, which is showcased on her UsTrendy page.
As a designer, fashion means a great deal to Rachael. "For me, it is a visual expression, a confidence builder, and the first impression the world gets of you." She believes that fashion should give a woman the confidence to "the confidence to go out and achieve anything she puts her heart and mind into!"
She designs primarily for women age 25 and up, because they are the market sector that does the most shopping, and are the most affected - often emotionally - by what they purchase. "I cannot tell you how many stories I’ve heard about women getting upset and depressed during a shopping experience. This is what drives me to want to create something better. This is why when I create clothing it is so important to me, because not only am I making something, but also I am changing a woman’s life for the better!" Her motto is, "feel good fashion for all women."

$30.00 OFF UGGS

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like to be comfortable.  So how would you like $ 30 towards your next comfortable, stylish, quality made pair of uggs(Discount code can be found at the end of the article and will be valid until May 31ST, 2010.  SO DON’T WAIT.)

Buyitrighthere is your new bff for all your ugg needs.  So here’s the deal, why is Buyitrighthere so fabulous?  Buyitrighthere is working to dismiss the myths going around about uggs.  Awesome, the truth shall set you free!  That’s not the only reason Buyitrighthere is just right place to buy uggs listen to this.

“Fashion in my mind brings so much to life if it can be therapeutic and healthy.  Often comfort and fashion clash and we sacrifice our sanity to fit into a size 6 dress and live with blisters from our heels,” as the super sweet Naomi Sanders from Buyitrighthere explained to me when she introduced me to the website.  I love this girl she’s working to make fashion and comfort come together.

Why are uggs from Buyitrighthere premium ugg boots?  Buyitrighthere offers Whooga ugg boots.  Whooga is a line of ugg boots with merino fleece. Merino fleece is an exceptional type of sheepskin recognized as a premier fleece alternative.  The most important difference between Whooga and its competitors is Whooga’s thickness, density, and strength of the fleece used!  Whooga uggs are built to keep you warm on the coldest winter days and nights!

“Whooga is manufactured with a unique grading of Australian merino fleece which is shipped to the Whooga fashion warehouse for HANDMADE construction in China.” (http://www.buyitrighthere.co.uk) Whooga guarantees quality and workmanship with its warranty.  Tremendous!  A warranty for your uggs, so now there is really no reason not to buy them!  Right? YES.

One would think uggs made of this quality and workmanship probably cost an arm and a leg?  NOPE.  Prices range from around $115.00 to $160.00. AND DON’T FORGET BEFORE MAY 31st, 2010 YOU HAVE $30.00 OFF!  If that’s not enough of an incentive to buy I’ll let you in on another little secret.  This is the best time to buy your uggs and here’s why.  Demand exceeds supply in the winter and waiting till winter only leads to agonizingly long backorders. Plus due to excessive demand and competition among manufacturers leather costs on the rise this means uggs are rarely on sale!

Don’t be surprised too, if after you buy your Whooga uggs and you find yourself spending time on Buyitrighthere.  Why?  This website has everything you could ever want and need to know about uggs in general.  Starting with ugg styles: women’s, men’s, classic tall and short, and mini.  Followed with all the ugg guides; about Whooga, comfort guide, sizing guide, style guide, fakes, stain removers, jewelry for uggs, ugg wear tips, and why to buy merino sheepskin.  Plus there are tons of links to other useful sites that have essential information about uggs.  My personal favorite links are the ones with information on how to personalize your uggs with jewelry or airbrushing.

Don’t get left in the cold this winter, get your $30.00 discount and buy your WHOOGA UGG BOOTS.

A Land Down Under

Right now no one has the extra cash to be buying Tiffany's, Cartier, etc. So what can you do?  You don't want to compromise your quality when it comes to jewelry.  Nor should you have too.

Well, I have the solution!   Lushae jewelry, a company started by two amazing talented Australians! So what do these girls from the land down under do?  They make gorgeous contemporary jewelry for a price that won't make have to take a second mortgage out on your house to own.  What I love most about these two girls is they are not willing to compromise their workmanship!

Lushae is a little over a year old, really starting to take off and not just in Australia, internationally too!  And that's no surprise, because it's clear that these girls have a creative eye for jewelry.  As Sarah said to me (One of the owner of Lushae.), "To us Jewelry isn't precious because it costs a fortune, its precious because of the unique style and memories of special times its brings!"

Not only do I love their jewelry, I dig their philosophy!  Who doesn't love it when they can get a great product from a company but also admire them.

Okay, so now that you have the background story on Lushae let me tell you about my personal experience with their jewelry.

The Website:  Let me just say I had a really hard time narrowing my selection down to just one piece, mostly because I wanted everything.  The site has so many beautiful pieces of jewelry it's hard to choose just one.  You know what else I found to be super smart about the website, these two Australian innovations care enough about their customer to provide information about how to care for your jewelry on their site!  You have like that!

My Necklace: First of all, "WOW",  it was delivered so fast I could hardly believe it.  It only took 3 days, that's impressive!  And boy did I think I loved my necklace when I saw it on the website, it was 10 times more radiant in real life!

So don't waste anymore time, check out these girls before it's too late!  I mean if Beyonce Knowles and Gwen Stefani are already rocking their jewelry, what are you waiting for??

Louis Vuitton Raindrop Besace 'Trash Bag'

Louis Vuitton Raindrop Besace 'Trash Bag'

Wow. So there is breaking the mode and then there is breaking down.  And this bag is breaking down!  Not sure what Marc was thinking when he came up with this idea!   But what I do know is that "trash bags" were only meant to be trash bags.  Not purses.  This is a designer that has gone too far, in search of new innovation!  Eeew.    Wouldn't be caught dead sporting this!
